CHAPTER STUDENT WINS SFPGA PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Categories: News

Congratulations to chapter student Abigail Halpern for winning the South Florida PGA Jr Prep Tour.

Abigail started playing golf at the age of 3 when she joined The First Tee in Palm City. She recently finished The First Tee Advanced clinic at Hammock Creek.
In addition, Abby has played many US Kids tournaments placing among the top players. She also has two hole-in-ones, one of which was during a tournament. In the last two years, she focused on playing mostly South Florida PGA events. She is a hard-working student at Hidden Oaks Middle School, Palm City where her priority is to excel in the classes she attends.

During her limited free time, Abby volunteers at Nala’s New Life Rescue animal shelter in Palm City to help the less fortunate dogs. She aspires to become an LPGA professional. Abby and her 10 years old brother, Joshua (who is also a junior golfer) hope to give back to their community by funding a building for the animal shelter where Abby volunteers.

Abby’s favorite quote is “The longest journey begins with the first step.” Her mother added: “The longest golf journey begins with The First Tee. We would like to thank The First Tee and I hope Abigail continues her golf journey and makes things happen!”
